COLUMBIA, Mo. • Forty-eight hours after the first scrimmage of the preseason, the assistant coach who’s been at Missouri longer than all but two in team history brought some perspective to the Drew Lock buzz that sent a charge through the Internet over the weekend.
Lock’s impressive debut inspired some comparisons to former Heisman Trophy finalist Chase Daniel on Saturday, even by quarterbacks coach Andy Hill, but two days later Hill pumped the brakes on the Drew Lock Express.
“Drew’s done some great things, but he’s got a long way to go,” Hill said after Monday’s practice.
