COLUMBIA, Mo. • Missouri holds its third preseason scrimmage Thursday, the final showcase for Gary Pinkel and his coaches to evaluate their personnel and shape the depth chart for the Sept. 5 opener against Southeast Missouri State. But Pinkel’s staff already has learned plenty about the makeup of its 2015 team, especially on offense.
After his unit sputtered for parts of last season and again during spring practices, coordinator Josh Henson has watched his passing game take flight through three weeks of preseason camp. He’s not ready to declare all problems solved but acknowledges the offense has looked “great” at times the last few weeks.
