COLUMBIA, Mo. • There’s only one direction to go for the Missouri men’s basketball team. After a last-place finish in the Southeastern Conference last season, the Tigers were picked to finish last in the 14-team league in the preseason media poll released Wednesday.
Missouri was 9-23 last season and 3-15 in Kim Anderson's first year as head coach. The Tigers return six players from last season and add six newcomers. Anderson is in Charlotte, N.C., Wednesday for SEC media days, along with players Jakeenan Gant and Ryan Rosburg.
Defending SEC champion Kentucky was picked to win the conference for the 11th time since 1998-99, edging Vanderbilt and Texas A&M, two teams that missed the NCAA Tournament last season.
