COLUMBIA, MO. • Jordan Geist was due. Missouri's senior point guard had his share of fatal last-second possessions last season, but in Sunday's thriller against Central Florida, Geist kept a seemingly lost game alive. Geist's game-tying buzzer-beating 3-pointer at the end of regulation sent the Tigers and Knights into overtime, where Mizzou outlasted the visitors 64-62 to snap a two-game losing streak.
Geist led the Tigers (4-3) with 18 points and added three steals in a turnover-free 40 minutes. Mizzou got another 13 points from freshman Javon Pickett and 10 from Jeremiah Tilmon.
UCF's Aubrey Dawkins finished with a game-high 22 points but his deep 3-point heave at the final buzzer clanged off the rim.
