COLUMBIA, MO. • The only person definitely not returning to the Missouri basketball team sees promise in the future.
“I think we have the pieces, guys who work hard and do what they’re told,” senior Ryan Rosburg said as the Tigers prepared for Saturday’s season finale against Florida. “The cohesiveness, it’s night and day from last year. That’s a positive step.”
Just like his coach, Rosburg pointed to Mizzou’s four-man freshman class as the reason for optimism. Averaging 11.5 points heading into Saturday’s game, forward Kevin Puryear will be MU’s first freshman to lead the team in scoring since All-American Steve Stipanovich in 1980.
