COLUMBIA, Mo. — Missouri linebacker Cale Garrett was a yard away from scoring a defensive touchdown for a third straight game when he intercepted Troy’s Kaleb Barker and returned it 26 yards.
But on Troy’s next possession, Garrett got a second chance. He picked off Barker again and ran it back 33 yards for a score. It was his third interception of the season and his third defensive touchdown.
“He deserved it,” safety Ronnell Perkins said. “He puts the work in. He watches the most film out of anybody. He’s there at 5 o’clock in the morning every day.
