COLUMBIA, MO. • Perhaps the frustration of losing boiled over for both men in the first minute of the second half in Wednesday’s Braggin’ Rights Game. Missouri point guard Terrence Phillips had just picked up a foul when Tigers coach Kim Anderson called him to the bench. Phillips waved his hand instead. Anderson called again and this time unloaded on his sophomore floor leader. Phillips watched the next six minutes from the bench.
The Tigers rallied without their primary ball-handler on the floor while Phillips became the team’s biggest cheerleader on the bench, moving up and down the sideline to make sure his teammates stayed engaged.
