COLUMBIA, Mo. — In a trend that's becoming a tradition, Missouri football will once again open its season under the lights on the Thursday before Labor Day.
Mizzou's 2025 season opener against Central Arkansas, originally scheduled for August 30, will instead be played at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, August 28.
It'll be the fourth consecutive year the Tigers have begun play in that Thursday slot, which seems to have become an effective use of the calendar.
The game's TV designation will be announced at a later date.
"We're excited to keep this new tradition going with Mizzou football opening its season on a Thursday night in CoMo leading into the Labor Day weekend," coach Eli Drinkwitz said in a statement.
