Misery needs company, and Missouri sure could use some too.
The Tigers are living alone in the Southeastern Conference’s basement now, winless through nine games of SEC play, after losing 68-61 to Vanderbilt on Saturday afternoon. Mizzou (8-14 overall) is 14th out of 14 in the league standings.
The lowly Commodores (now 6-15 overall) also were winless against SEC opponents heading into the game, but MU lent a hand to another wayward program that now is 1-7 in league play. That earned the Tigers a spot among the other five teams that managed to lose to Vanderbilt this season: South Carolina Upstate, North Carolina-Greensboro, Alabama A&M, Dartmouth and Central Arkansas.
