Mizzou men to get taste of own defensive medicine in key SEC basketball matchup vs. Vanderbilt

COLUMBIA, Mo. — When the Missouri men’s basketball team hosts Vanderbilt on Saturday, the Tigers will be gazing into a fogged-up mirror: They’ll see a version of themselves looking right back.

Mizzou (12-3 overall, 1-1 Southeastern Conference) shares a stylistic philosophy with the Commodores (13-2, 1-1), who the Tigers will play at 2:30 p.m. in a game televised on SEC Network.

Start with the defense. Vanderbilt and Missouri are tied for the most steals per game in the SEC (and fifth in the nation) with 10.5 an outing. Vandy leads the league in defensive turnover rate, turning opponents over on 19.
