COLUMBIA, Mo. — There were turnovers, lackluster offense and a game-deciding second-half run for the opponent. There were players out injured who would have impacted the game.
And at the end of it all, there was a loss — the 11th in a row for Missouri men’s basketball, which fell 75-51 at home to Mississippi State on Saturday.
The result, while familiar by this point for the Southeastern Conference’s last-place team, was statistically the season’s worst. The 24-point margin of defeat was level with December’s Braggin’ Rights loss to Illinois for Mizzou’s steepest of the year. The Tigers’ 51 points were the fewest scored all season, landing below the 55 scored against Memphis early in the campaign.
