COLUMBIA, Mo. — Just a couple of days after losing a promising freshman running back to the transfer portal, Missouri found its replacement in a freshman who put together a prolific first season of college football.
Former Louisiana-Monroe running back Ahmad Hardy committed to Mizzou as a transfer last night.
He ran for 1,351 yards and 13 touchdowns this season as a true freshman, which landed Hardy 12th in the nation in rushing yards. He picked up at least 100 yards in eight of his 12 games, going for 200-plus twice. His 94 missed tackles forced were the second-most in the country, according to Pro Football Focus, trailing only Heisman Trophy runner-up Ashton Jeanty of Boise State.
