COLUMBIA, Mo. • Mack Rhoades’ first hire as Mizzou’s athletics director is no stranger to the state of Missouri. Wren Baker, formerly the AD at Northwest Missouri State, has agreed to become MU’s new deputy athletics director for external relations. Baker will take over the position June 8. He replaces Doug Gillin, who left earlier this spring to become the AD at Appalachian State.
Baker, 36, comes to Mizzou from Memphis, where he held the same title as his new position. At MU, he’ll oversee all external relations departments and serve as the administrator for the men’s basketball program.
