Missouri’s new defensive line coach is no stranger to the Southeastern Conference. Brick Haley, who spent six seasons as the defensive line coach at Louisiana State, will replace Jackie Shipp on Mizzou’s staff, the team announced Friday.
MU coach Barry Odom fired Shipp after he got into an altercation with a player before MU’s game at Tennessee, sources told the Post-Dispatch last month. Haley, 50, spent the last two seasons as the defensive line coach at Texas and earlier in his career coached in the SEC at Mississippi State.
"I'm very excited to have the opportunity to work with Brick Haley, I have had tremendous respect for him over the years," Odom said in a prepared statement.
