For a while Missouri planned to get out of the business of scheduling road football games against teams from outside the Power 5 conferences. But piecing together schedules in today's market is costlier than ever.
That partly explains why the Tigers have agreed to a two-year home and away series with Massachusetts, an FBS independent that plays its home games in 17,000-seat McGuirk Alumni Stadium in Amherst, Mass. The Tigers will play at UMass in 2024 and will host the Minutemen in 2025.
That’s not Mizzou’s only addition to upcoming schedules. The Tigers have secured their four nonconference opponents for every season through 2025, said deputy athletics director Nick Joos, who works with AD Jim Sterk and Tigers coach Barry Odom on the schedule.
