Mizzou football misses out on All-American Michael Thompson

The NCAA’s introduction of two signing periods took away some of National Signing Day’s normal drama, but Missouri still entered the day with one big question: What school would land defensive tackle Michael Thompson?

The answer arrived around noon Wednesday at Parkway North High School, when the four-star defensive tackle announced that he will not play for Mizzou. He decided to sign with the Oklahoma Sooners instead.

The 6-foot-4, 273-pound Thompson is the No. 96 player in the country and the No. 2 player in Missouri, according to Rivals. He recorded 77 tackles and seven sacks during his senior season.
