Mizzou football is doing fine despite losing linebacker Cale Garrett in last week’s game.
The Tigers lead Ole Miss 12-7 after two quarters in their homecoming matchup.
Mizzou struggled early on, but that was all. The Rebels got help after a fumble by Johnathon Johnson, subbing in as a punt returner. He muffed the first punt and set Ole Miss up with good field position.
Freshman quarterback John Rhys Plumlee nailed his running back Scottie Phillips in the back of the end zone for 21 yards on third down for an early 7-0 lead. That short field was all the points Mizzou would surrender.
