Mizzou fires Earleywine, citing leadership concerns

COLUMBIA, MO. • Two weeks before the Missouri softball team plays its first game of the season, the school has fired coach Ehren Earleywine for what athletics director Jim Sterk described as "a culmination of leadership concerns." The move is effective immediately.

In his 11 seasons at Mizzou, Earleywine guided the Tigers to NCAA regional play every year with three Women's College World Series appearances and compiled a record of 482-182.

"I met with Coach Earleywine this morning and informed him of our decision to make a change in leadership within the softball program effective immediately," Sterk said.
