Today we’re talking about perceptions and how they change. And if it matters.
Last week, the only thing a casual college football fan might have known about Mizzou was that the Associated Press said they were the seventh-best team in the country. That same fan might’ve woken up this morning and said that the Associated Press now says Mizzou is the eleventh-best team in the country, despite not losing.
What gives, the casual fan might ask. After all, it looks like Mizzou won their game!
I think we can all acknowledge that Mizzou — or at least the Mizzou that the wider college football media has been presenting — has been something of a paper tiger.
