Mizzou defensive end Nate Howard was arrested by campus police late Wednesday night and faces multiple charges including possession of a controlled substance.
The Boone County Jail's booking website shows Howard faces charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and no vehicle registration.
UMPD spokesman spokesman Capt. Brian Weimer told the Post-Dispatch more information will be available later Thursday morning.
Mizzou Athletics has not yet commented on Howard's status with the team.
Howard, 20, was listed as a detainee of the Boone County Jail as of 8 a.m. The Ladue alum was poised to enter the fall with a chance to compete for a starting position on the Tigers' defensive line.
