COLUMBIA, Mo. • The Missouri basketball team has started its fourth week of summer classes and offseason workouts and continues to practice without sophomore guard Montaque Gill-Caesar, who planned to miss the first month of workouts while playing for the U-19 Team Canada in this summer’s FIBA World Championships. Speaking on Monday’s SEC teleconference, Tigers coach Kim Anderson said Gill-Caesar is expected to rejoin the team for next month’s session of summer school.
Gill-Caesar, nursing a back injury he suffered last season, pulled out of the Team Canada tryouts.
It’s uncertain how long the back injury is going to affect the sophomore who was Mizzou’s third-leading scorer last season at 9.
