COLUMBIA, Mo. — New Missouri men's basketball center Connor Vanover will miss the first three games of the season because he participated in an offseason showcase tournament.
His absence is the result of an NCAA ruling, a team spokesperson said.
Vanover played in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament in April, which showcases senior college basketball players for professional scouts.
The program announced Vanover's absence a little more than an hour before Monday's season opener against Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
Vanover, a graduate student, transferred to Mizzou from Oral Roberts and is expected to be a contributor over the course of the 2023-2024 season.
