For much of this season, Mizzou men’s basketball has filled up the scoring column. Its 84.8 points per game entering Tuesday was a top-20 mark in the nation.
In Austin, however, scoring proved to be a chore for not just the Tigers, but the Longhorns as well. In a league where high-scoring affairs have peppered scoreboards since conference play began earlier this month — heck, Alabama defeated Vanderbilt 103-87 in the game before Mizzou-Texas — Tuesday night at the Moody Center was a rare slugfest.
Mizzou held a 51-50 lead with five minutes to play; it held a 14-0 record this season when leading with five minutes left.
