COLUMBIA, MO. • Missouri’s third preseason camp under Barry Odom opened with a notable omission both on the roster and on the practice field. Wide receiver Harry Ballard was removed from the team’s updated roster and did not take part in Friday’s practice, the first of the preseason.
Ballard’s departure was not a sudden development. In May, multiple sources told the Post-Dispatch that Ballard was being investigated for an undisclosed disciplinary issue. Team officials declined to answer questions on Ballard’s status throughout the summer. He was not arrested by local authorities and isn’t facing any criminal charges, according to online court documents.
