GAINESVILLE, Fla. • Missouri entered its matchup with Florida on Saturday intent on taking away 3-pointers while knocking the Gators off their game by being physical.
But ultimately, too many fouls and not enough big shots down the stretch proved costly as Missouri was unable to hold another second-half lead in a 64-60 loss to the Gators.
Missouri trailed 62-60 and was coming out of a timeout with 23 seconds left. The Tigers worked the ball inside, out, then reversed it to the left side, where freshman guard Javon Pickett had an open look for a 3-point attempt with 8 seconds left.
