Mizzou beats Purdue the hard way

The Tigers’ Heisman Trophy contender was overshadowed by Purdue’s record-setting passer, but Drew Lock ultimately delivered the game-winning drive and Tucker McCann kicked the game-winning field goal, a 25-yarder to clinch a last-second 40-37 victory.

The Tigers blew a 17-point lead but charge into their first Southeastern Conference game, next Saturday’s visit from No. 3 Georgia, with their record unblemished at 3-0.

Just four days earlier Barry Odom said this was his best secondary in his three seasons as Missouri’s coach, but he spent Saturday watching David Blough torch that unit for a school-record 572 yards. Yes, more yards than legendary quarterback Drew Brees ever totaled in his prolific career.
