The Tigers turned the ball over 25 times in last Friday’s 76-59 loss at Iowa State, while committing 26 fouls. It was the program’s most turnovers in a game since … well, that’s hard to answer. Available turnover tallies only go back to the 2000-01 season, and since then, MU’s previous high was 24, in a 2008 blowout loss at Kansas State. Seven of those turnovers were offensive fouls as the Tigers’ mistakes sabotaged a decent shooting night at Hilton Coliseum.
“When you watch the game there were a lot of things we could have corrected,” Martin said Wednesday before leaving Columbia for the Virgin Islands, site of this weekend’s Paradise Jam.
