Mizzou baseball, softball teams slumping down the stretch

COLUMBIA, MO. • While the Missouri softball team spends the week waiting to learn its postseason fate, the Tigers’ cohorts at Taylor Stadium have a few weeks to bolster their NCAA credentials.

The Missouri baseball Tigers have lost five of their last six SEC games, including last weekend’s three-game sweep at home by Georgia, in which Steve Bieser’s club was outscored 22-10. Mizzou’s lineup is without its most potent bat in Kameron Misner, but against the Bulldogs, MU’s pitching came unglued.

The Tigers (30-18, 9-15 SEC) slipped from No. 28 to 32 in the latest RPI standings and are suddenly in danger of missing the SEC tournament.
