COLUMBIA, MO. • The first half of Missouri’s football season ended much like last year’s first half, another losing streak, another game of what-ifs, all underscored by uncertainty about the future.
Saturday’s 39-10 loss at No. 1 Alabama ended what’s been widely considered the Tigers’ most difficult three-game stretch of the season, albeit with a third straight defeat heading into this week’s escape from Southeastern Conference play. Mizzou (3-3, 0-3 SEC) begins the season’s second half with a homecoming visit from Memphis (4-2) and like last year has a chance to reverse course and salvage a spiraling season.
