COLUMBIA, MO. • Three hours before Missouri tips off against Louisiana State to begin Southeastern Conference play, athletics director Jim Sterk publicly addressed the program's disappointing season and uncertain future under coach Kim Anderson.
Sterk, in place as Mizzou's AD since early September, issued a prepared statement Wednesday afternoon. The Post-Dispatch and other media outlets had requested a comment from Sterk after last Thursday's home loss to Lipscomb, which dropped the Tigers to 5-7.
Mizzou is 24-51 in three seasons under Anderson, who has two years left on his original five-year contract.
"I am aware that there are questions people have about our program, and while I appreciate that, the fact remains that we have more than half the season remaining," Sterk said.
