Errors at the service line slowed, but ultimately did not stop, Mizzou Volleyball from defeating Northern Kentucky (25-21, 32-34, 25-21, 25-21) in its first match of the weekend in the Bluegrass State.
The Tigers outhit the Norse .359 to .236 and recorded nine blocks compared to NKU’s three, but had an eye-opening 19 service errors and eight reception errors in the match. To put things in perspective, Mizzou had 21 service errors combined in its first three matches of the season.
The Norse took an early 8-6 lead in the first set before pulling ahead with a 4-0 run featuring back-to-back kills by Mychael Vernon.
