Eric Waters' comments after Michael Sam came out of the closet (essentially, castigating a few people who were congratulating themselves for tolerance when they were talking about him behind his back) were a reminder that there was a negative undercurrent to an overwhelmingly positive story. But that's almost always going to be the case. Nothing is unanimous among 100-whatever people.
