COLUMBIA, Mo. — Mississippi State’s mastery of Missouri continued in a rare Sunday night matchup at Mizzou Arena.
Columbia or Starkville, day or night, it doesn’t matter. The Tigers can’t unlock the stranglehold the Bulldogs hold on the series. Sunday was no exception. Mississippi State erased a late deficit and pulled out a 58-56 win, its fifth straight over Mizzou and 11th in the last 12 meetings.
Less than 48 hours after they last met in Starkville, Mississippi, Shakeel Moore’s transition layup with 10 seconds left proved to be the difference. With one last chance to go ahead or force overtime, Mizzou’s Javon Pickett’s corner 3-pointer fell short, dropping the Tigers to 10-17 and 4-10 in Southeastern Conference play.
