Just when you thought Missouri couldn’t have a worse start to a game, the Tigers prove it’s possible.
That was the case Thursday at Liberty, where the Tigers opened with an unfathomably bad first half and never got much better in a 66-45 loss in Lynchburg, Virginia.
It took Mizzou eight minutes to score its first field goal in a game Liberty led by as many as 26 points and never trailed. The Tigers (4-4) finished with more turnovers (18) than field goals (14).
Darius McGhee led Liberty (4-3) with 20 points as the Flames connected on 11 3-pointers and won their 40th consecutive home game, the second-longest streak in the country.
