Matter's Matchups: Beware the improved Gamecocks

COLUMBIA, MO. • Missouri and South Carolina have played some memorable games since the Tigers joined the SEC. After a 21-point Gamecock blowout in the first meeting in 2012, the Tigers and Gamecocks played the infamous Connor Shaw Back From the Dead Game in 2013, then Mizzou’s out-of-nowhere fourth-quarter rally in 2014. Last year’s game was Drew Lock’s first career start, Mizzou’s last SEC victory, more than a calendar year ago, and Steve Spurrier’s penultimate game on the Gamecock sideline.

The series is even 2-2 in the SEC with South Carolina outscoring Mizzou 88-79.
