That was text message that popped up on my phone one early February morning in 2009.
The sender was Chase Daniel. He was in Indianapolis for the NFL Scouting Combine and just passed the biggest test of his young — and still going — professional football career. A chance to throw footballs in the NFL might have hinged on his height.
“Back then,” Daniel said last week, “it was a huge deal if a quarterback was even barely under 6 foot.”
One of Daniel’s many talents is an ability to seize on any slight or snub, real or imagined, and turn them into his life’s singular purpose.
