First, the baseball Tigers. With a 2-1 series-tying loss to Tennessee on Friday, Mizzou's season comes down to Saturday’s final game of the regular season. The winner of the 2 p.m. start captures the series and takes the final spot in the 12-team Southeastern Conference tournament. A series loss will keep the Tigers out of the SEC tourney and most likely out of the running for an at-large spot in an NCAA regional.
The Volunteers (29-26, 12-17 SEC) evened the series at Taylor Stadium with two solo home runs off Mizzou starter Michael Plassmeyer (5-4), who was otherwise dominant with 11 strikeouts and one walk in an 124-pitching complete game.
