Broncos fans should enjoy hearing that, though, because the former Missouri quarterback now has a little extra motivation when he arrives in Denver.
After unexpectedly slipping out of the first round Thursday, the Broncos picked Lock with the 42nd pick in the NFL draft and the 10th pick in the second round on Friday night.
“If for some reason I needed any extra motivation, I definitely got it,” Lock said.
The Broncos, who traded for veteran quarterback Joe Flacco this offseason, passed on Lock three times, including the 41st pick, when they selected Kansas State tackle and Colorado native Dalton Risner.
