COLUMBIA, MO. • Nashville, Ill., offensive lineman Royce Newman started considering other schools after Missouri coach Gary Pinkel announced his resignation in November, and on Monday Newman officially changed his verbal commitment from Mizzou to Ole Miss.
Newman first pledged to the Tigers in June. He announced his commitment to Ole Miss on Twitter.
He’s the sixth recruit once committed to Missouri to change his mind since the coaching change from Pinkel to Barry Odom. Newman had also been considering Nebraska. Arkansas and Georgia had shown recent interest.
