COLUMBIA, MO. • Larry Drew was a great college player at Mizzou. He was good enough in the NBA to last 10 seasons. He had his best scoring season in 1982-83 with the Kansas City Kings, averaging 20.1 points and 8.1 rebounds, one of the best NBA seasons by a former Missouri player. He finished his career with an NBA Finals appearance with the Lakers, coming off the bench behind NBA greats Magic Johnson and Byron Scott.
It was written in this space a few years ago that Drew had the second-best NBA playing career among Mizzou players.
