Plain and simple, the Missouri Tigers needed to beat Boston College on Saturday. Their remaining schedule is about to heat up, and after losing to Kentucky, this was a must-win if the Tigers wanted to live up to their preseason expectations.
Once again, the Tiger run defense was the main culprit in this disappointing loss. Opponents are averaging 269 yards on the ground against Mizzou per game, and there’s been zero sign of improvement.
Typically, teams make big leaps from the beginning of the season til the middle, but it looks like Mizzou has made little to no improvement in their run defense since Week 1.
