KANSAS CITY • An encouraging start to the Missouri basketball team's season was buried under a pile of bricks.
Wins against Kansas State came often when Missouri basketball coach Kim Anderson was an assistant under former Tigers coach Norm Stewart.

Mizzou (2-2) lost to Kansas State (4-0) 66-42 in Monday night's first game of the CBE Hall of Fame Classic at the Sprint Center, the first time the former Big 12 foes met since February of 2012.
After two wins and a gutsy loss at Xavier, the Tigers looked like a throwback to last years's 9-23 squad against a Wildcats team picked to finish seventh in the Big 12.
