COLUMBIA, Mo. — Cuonzo Martin was tempted to give freshman guard Kaleb Brown his first career start Saturday in a crucial game at Texas A&M but resisted the urge considering the stakes at play.
Brown hadn’t played more than 18 minutes in a game and just once played more than eight minutes on the road. Saturday’s game matched teams riding losing streaks.
“I just felt like, ahh, at the last minute I didn't want to do it,” Martin later said, “just because of this type of environment, his first start, both teams hungry for a win. I didn’t want to do that to him just yet.
