Junior college guard commits to Mizzou

COLUMBIA, MO. • Jordan Geist, a second-team junior college All-American, became the latest addition to the Missouri basketball team's recruiting class. Geist, a 6-3 guard from Ranger College in Ranger, Texas, committed to Mizzou during his official visit, he tweeted Friday.

Geist, originally from Fort Wayne, Ind., averaged 15.1 points and 2.8 assists for Ranger College this season, shot 45.6 percent, 35.3 percent from 3-point range and 75.2 percent from the foul line. Playing under Ranger coach Billy Gillispie, former head coach at Texas A&M, Kentucky and Texas Tech, Geist helped lead Ranger to the National Junior College Athletic Association national semifinals and a 31-7 record.
