COLUMBIA, MO. • The Missouri basketball team officially added its latest and likely last newcomer to the 2016-17 roster: Jakoby Kemp, a 6-9 forward from Layton, Utah, who committed to MU last month. Kemp has started classes at Mizzou and joined his new teammates for offseason workouts.
Kemp averaged 12.6 points and 6.6 rebounds while leading Layton to the Utah Class 5A state semifinals. An injury sidelined him for the 2015 summer AAU circuit, but college coaches began showing interest in Kemp this spring. Hector Marquez, one of his AAU coaches with the Salt Lake Rebels, recently said coaches LSU, TCU, VCU, Memphis, Utah State, Drake, Colorado State and Southern Miss had also shown interest.
