COLUMBIA, Mo. — Fresh off a second straight 6-7 season that leads into another pivotal offseason for coach Eli Drinkwitz, here are the Post-Dispatch’s choices for the 2022 Missouri football team’s season superlatives:
Defensive player of the year:
Isaiah McGuire, defensive end
After a breakout 2021 season, McGuire established himself as one of the SEC’s premier edge rushers and defensive stoppers in 2022. The senior team captain earned first-team All-SEC honors after leading the Tigers with 7.5 sacks and 35 pressures off the edge. McGuire added to his career-high totals with 13 tackles for loss and 21 hurries.
