Iowa ends Tigers' season in Cunningham's Mizzou finale

The No. 7-seeded Missouri women’s basketball team’s season ended with an NCAA Tournament second-round loss to No. 2 and host team Iowa on Sunday when the Hawkeyes ran away with a 68-52 victory and Sweet 16 berth.

Iowa (28-6) will head to Greensboro, N.C., to face either Kentucky or North Carolina State on March 30. The Tigers (24-11) haven’t reached the Sweet 16 since 2000.

It was an anticlimactic ending for Missouri senior Sophie Cunningham, the Tigers’ all-time leading scorer. She ended her final game in a Missouri uniform with eight points, but her career is still one for the record books with the scoring record, 92 total wins and four NCAA Tournaments.
