The record stood for 16 years, but it’s time to hang a new banner.
Sam Innes broke the men’s indoor weight throw program record at Missouri’s Bob Teel Invitational, Saturday, January 25, 2025.
Innes, a Columbia native, felt “flooded with gratitude” to compete in front of friends, family and Mizzou alum Chris Rohr, who watched his 2009 record fall.
“It was nice to kind of dethrone him while he was here,” Innes said with the smile of a friendly competitor.
Roars erupted through the Hearnes Center Fieldhouse as Innes approached the throwing circle for his fifth attempt.
