COLUMBIA, Mo. • K.J. Walton, a 6-3 shooting guard from Brownsburg, Ind., committed to Missouri while in Columbia on his official recruiting visit, several outlets reported Friday. Walton later confirmed the news on his just launched Twitter account, @KjWalton10: “Officially a mizzou tiger!”
Walton, rated a four-star prospect by Rivals.com and Scout.com, chose Missouri over Cincinnati, Minnesota and Xavier. He’s rated the No. 103 player in the 2015 class by Rivals.com. He averaged 19.7 points and 5 rebounds per game as a senior.
Walton gives the Tigers six newcomers as part of Kim Anderson’s 2015 recruiting class, joining high school signees Cullen VanLeer (Pacific), Kevin Puryear (Blue Springs South) and Terrence Phillips (Oak Hill Academy) and junior college transfers Martavian Payne and Russell Woods, both from John A.
