Today we’re talking about Sophie Cunningham.
We don’t talk enough about Sophie Cunningham, methinks. The Once and Future Mayor of Columbia has carved out a really nice career for herself in the WNBA, spending the past six seasons as a contributing member of the Phoenix Mercury and developing a reputation as a sharp-shooting two-way guard. It’s not as if Mizzou Hoops has an extensive legacy in the WNBA, so Sophie’s consistency is a nice boon for Mizzou.
In case you missed it, however, she’ll be undergoing the first major change of her career. Last week, Cunningham was traded to the Indiana Fever, where she’ll become a teammate of recent WNBA Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark.
